In memory of

It is with deep sadness and dismay that we have to inform you that Klaus Wiedhahn suffered a heart attack shortly before his 76th birthday on Wednesday afternoon at the San Francisco airport. Despite immediately initiated resuscitation measures, he died on the spot.

Over the decades he has influenced and shaped the development of the CEREC system like no other. There is hardly a CEREC user in the world who has not been directly or indirectly influenced and inspired by his tireless striving for improvement. He was always a diplomat and had a solution for everyone. Be it as a mentor and friend to his colleagues or as a constant advisor to the industry. His opinion was always sought after, he had an open ear for everyone and always knew how to give advice. Under his guidance and leadership, the DGCZ was founded in the early 1990s. He initiated the ISCD in Zurich together with CEREC pioneers from all parts of the world. His advice and expertise was second to none. In 1998 he started a success story in CEREC education with the 1st ISCD CEREC Trainers Course. At the same time he launched the internationally recognized International Journal of Computerized Dentistry.

He continued to inspire his colleagues to go above and beyond. He successfully implemented his vision of a unique CEREC training institution and was instrumental in founding the DDA Berlin, of which he was managing director until the end.
Tireless and always with new ideas, he never lost sight of his goal, even against all odds.

Failure is not an option was his motto in life. We will miss his balance, his advice, his motivational power and his friendship very much.
Our deepest sympathy goes to his dear wife Angelika and his two daughters Christine and Claudine.
